Whitemountain goes green
Safety Group member Whitemountain (who are part of the Breedon Group) have installed 6 electric car charge points at Temple Quarry as part of the roll out of its green transport initiative, which in turn, will help deliver on the Government’s commitment to net zero emissions by 2050. This brings the total number of electric charge points installed at Whitemountain sites to 14. Electricity used to supply the charge points is 100% renewable, significantly reducing the carbon emissions from their hybrid company car fleet.
The Company hope to invest in an additional 4 charge points at our Macosquin site before the end Dec 2021, with a further roll out of charging points at their key strategic locations in NI in 2022.
“Whitemountain are proud to show our commitment towards creating a clean and green environment for everyone in NI, with the installation of our electric car charging network. Using 100% renewable energy to charge our cars means that our transport is on its way to being free from carbon emissions, creating a more sustainable future not only for our industry, but for future generations. “ Claire George, Sustainability Coordinator, Whitemountain
