Search begins for new Chair for the Health and Safety Executive for Northern Ireland
The Department for the Economy has launched a public appointment competition to appoint a new Chair to the Board of the Health HSENI.
HSENI plays an important role in educating, informing, communicating with, and supporting businesses to comply with, and improve, standards of health and safety at work in Northern Ireland.
The role of Chair offers the opportunity to play an important role within HSENI as the organisation strives to achieve its vision of world-class performance in workplace health and safety and therefore improve the overall economic and social wellbeing of our community.
It is anticipated the new Chair will be appointed for a term of four years with effect from 1 April 2024. The time commitment normally amounts to four to six days per month, or equivalent, and remuneration amounts to £21,237 per annum.
Details of the competition are available on the DfE website.
An application pack with full details and guidance may be obtained by mailing the DfE Public Appointments Unit at pau@economy-ni.gov.uk
The closing date for applications is 12noon on Friday 12 January 2024.
As women, young people, people with a disability, and those from minority ethnic communities are currently under-represented on the Board, applications from members of these groups would be particularly welcome. The Department operates the Guaranteed Interview Scheme for applicants with a disability.
