Education

Safety Sam regularly appears in primary schools.

The concept of “Safety Sam” originated back in the 1990s, when a group of local construction companies came together to create a character to use to assist in educating primary school children on the dangers of playing on or near a construction site.

Safety Sam presentations are delivered to schools close to a site by the contractor as part of their corporate social responsibility and general site health and safety initiatives. To date 1,000s of local primary school pupils have availed of this vital resource.

Central to the resource is having a number of willing volunteers from the NISG membership, who understand the benefit of giving of their time in delivering this safety message to our children, in a user friendly and engaging manner.

For further information on Safety Sam, please contact NISG Secretary Nicola McCracken on info@nisg.org.uk.
