Safety Roboot 2023
The Construction Employers Federation health and safety initiative, Safety Reboot, returns for a third year in January 2023. The month-long program aims to encourage construction companies to stop work for about fifteen minutes, once a week throughout January to take time to focus on key areas of health and safety.
There are eleven wide-ranging topics to choose from including working at height, slips, trips & falls, mobile plant & equipment and mental health. Specifically in relation to mental health, CEF has recently been involved in the launch of the Building Mental Health Alliance (BMHA). CITBNI have produced a short awareness video on behalf of BHMA which demonstrates to construction workers the importance of looking out for their colleagues and that support exists for those experiencing mental ill health. It’s a fantastic resource and would help to facilitate discussion on the hugely important topic of mental health. The video and other resources are available on the CEF website and the links are below.
Although primarily focussed on construction the resources can be adapted for most sectors.
