Time to Talk Day (1st February 2024)
Time to Talk Day (1st February 2024) is a campaign created by Mind and Rethink Mental Health and run in Northern Ireland in partnership with Inspire.
According to research conducted by Censuswide on behalf of Inspire last year, one in five people surveyed thinks that their workplace is a place where they talk about mental health and 19% suggested that more support and information in those spaces would make it easier to discuss this subject.
That’s why we’re supporting Inspire as they promote Time to Talk Day and we’d encourage you to do likewise.
The day is all about creating supportive communities by having conversations with colleagues about mental health. Worries can affect anyone. Having a brief chat about how we’re actually feeling can make a huge difference.
There are loads of ideas and free resources to support the day.
- Run a lunch-and-learn session in person, or virtually, to tell your colleagues more about mental health and how to support each other.
- organise a quiz and drop in mental health-related questions here and there.
- Organise a walk-and-talk event for your colleagues to get out and about on Time to Talk Day.
- Use their email signatures and video call backgrounds to help spread the word about Time to Talk Day.
- Get your customers talking about mental health online by sharing some of their social media posts. And remember to use #TimeToTalk.
- Set up a pledge board in the office, where you can write out simple and easy-to-achieve commitments around mental health.
