Annual Occupational Safety Quiz 2022 Winners Announced!

Friday night saw NISG return to physical events with the 2022 NISG annual Safety quiz. The Covid pandemic has curtailed our ability to run live events since March 2020 and there was undoubtably a great sense of anticipation as we started back to normal operation.

There was an upbeat atmosphere at the Wellington Park Hotel as the teams gathered and found their tables and prepared to compete for the Previous Entrant and Novice categories. Sponsored again by Safety Advice Centre, Bangor and with Alan Burch as Quizmaster the event was a great success and a fun night as well as promoting good health and safety culture within our Northern Ireland organisations. The teams comprise non-safety role personnel and the aim is to spread good safety awareness amongst the personnel from participating businesses.

Special guests included Robert Kidd, Chief Executive HSENI and Harry Galvin, President of NISO (NISG’s sister organisation in RoI) and Mary Keane, Past President, and Executive Committee Member of NISO. Anna Lyons from local charity Versus Arthritis was also in attendance as the ballot on the night was organised to raise money for this worthy cause.

The winners of the Previous Entrant category were JMD Training,

and the Novice category was won by Whitemountain (Breedon Group). 

The winning teams will now go on to represent Northern Ireland in the NISO/NISG All-Ireland Safety Quiz finals in Tullamore on the 14^th May 22 – we wish them the best of luck!
