2024 NISG Annual Occupational Safety Quiz Results
The 2024 NISG Quiz was held on Thursday night to a full house at Ulster University - Belfast Campus.
Sponsored by Safety Advice Centre and Ulster University, the quiz was a fiercely fought competition, with few points to be found between the top teams at the end of the night. Competing in the 2 categories of Novice and Previous Entrants were 18 teams who completed 8 rounds of questions in this "pub quiz" style format. H&S professionals and anyone in a full-time H&S role are not eligible to sit on a team and the aim is to encourage all employees to take ownership of health and safety at work.
The Previous Entrant category was won by Ulster University Students Union and the Novice category was won by Lagan MEICA. Both teams will now head to Limerick on Saturday 27th April, 2024 to complete in the NISO / NISG All-Ireland Occupational Health & Safety Quiz Finals. We wish them the very best of luck.
Special thanks go to Alan Burch, Safety Advice Centre, for stepping into the role of Quizmaster yet again, and ensuring that the rules were followed and the quiz kept to time during the evening.
Thanks also go to Alexander Huston and the team from Compass who prepared and served the hot buffet supper after the quiz, which was enjoyed by all.
