Workshop: Health & Safety Management: When Working With Young People
Young people are vital to our future. However, from a workplace health and safety point of view young people are of particular concern as they face an increased risk of injury and death at work due to their inexperience, lack of a maturity and appreciation of risk. Source - HSENI Website
The majority of organisations will employ young people as trainees and apprenticeships as well as hosting work experience placements.
This Workshop, hosted by JMD Training, will give an insight into good safety management and offer information on what to include in your risk assessment and how to ensure good communication channels when working with young people.
You will hear about:
- Perception of Risk
- What to include in your risk assessment
- Support and Mentoring
- Education and Training Requirements
- How to ensure good communication channels when working with young people
- As well as hearing from young people themselves on their experiences within industry.
A panel will include representatives from the Employer; the Trainer; the H&S Professional and the Apprentice who will share their experiences and offer advice during a Q&A session.
This interactive workshop is aimed at H&S professionals; HR personnel; managers and those involved in placing young people within the workforce.
The venue is restricted to 30 places and 1 person per organisation so book early to avoid disappointment.
