Industrial DUST MATTERS - Exposure/Effects/Limits/Control
Many authorities believe that research in the last 20 years has shown that many, perhaps all, dusts previously considered inert can produce serious health effects at long-term average exposures.
Even relatively low exposure to low-toxicity dust may cause adverse effects on those exposed to it.
Mike Slater, current President of BOHS, is a Chartered occupational hygienist with extensive experience in providing practical advice and training on the assessment, management and control of hazardous substances. In his presentation he'll cover:-
- The sectors at greatest risk
- Recognising the effects of over exposure
- Types of dust (including low toxicity dusts)
- COSHH Regulations
- The current limit values
- Sensible control measures
The Safety Group are delighted that Mike has agreed to fly in from England to present to the membership on this major topic that is probably more widespread than most think.
